D.R. Turbo 350Z Cross-over Pipe~

Continuing on with our 350Z Single Turbokit today, we worked on designing the right-bank crossover pipe for the Turbo Outlet to accept the 2 1/4″ stainless tubing. With a few modification’s to the engine harness positioning and deleting a couple brackets we were able to open up a position above the transmission bell-housing…

By removing one of the lower transmission harness brackets we are able to re-work the tranny wiring harnesses position also. After removing the bracket we were able to use that bracket in a different location on the lower harness..

Now that the harness is out of the way, we mated our 2 1/4″ stainless flange to the right-bank header and began building the transition…

With the start of the outlet routing over the bell-housing we worked on adapting the cross-over pipe across the engine compartment. One of the main concerns with exhaust heat on the rear of the engine besides the engine harness is the rear water cross-over pipe. Keeping the outlet pipe away from the cast aluminum outlet will be important for not having any coolant temperature issues…(ceramic coating or heat wrap will most likely be used for added safety)

With a few final cuts and tacks we were able to route the outlet out of harms way. Spending a little time welding up the cross-over and doing a final install will finish this part of the project…
